CLGF works to promote and strengthen democratic local government across the Commonwealth and to encourage the exchange of best practice – through conferences and events, technical assistance projects and research.

Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces

Internationally, FEMP is especially active in Europe, Latin America and the Mediterranean area, cooperating in strengthening local institutions, providing the experience accumulated from the Spanish local governments on decentralization, governance and local autonomy.

Global Fund for the development of cities

is the Alliance of local and regional governments on financing for territorial actions and local economic development. FMDV provides solutions and expertise to create and implement the enabling environment, appropriate conditions and mechanisms allowing local and regional governments’ access to the necessary resources to fund their urban development strategies.

United Cities and Local Governments - Middle East and West Asia section 

the vision  of UCLG - MEWA is to be the united voice and world advocate of democratic local self-government, promoting its values, objectives and interests, through cooperation between local governments, and within the wider international community.

United Nations Human Settlement Programme

UN-Habitat works closely with local governments in achieving sustainable urban development, local democracy and good urban governance. UN-Habitat acts as a focal point for Local Governments and their associations, including metropolitan, regional, and other territorial government levels. 

Uraía Platform

brings together 90 cities and technology partners to identify how SMART technologies can be better used in city management, addressing not only efficiency in public services management and finance, but also being at the service of the citizens, and aim at improving their lives and participation in building better cities.
